Love Island star Laura Crane has finally been released following 10 days in hospital after falling ill with sepsis.
The 23-year-old reality TV star was discovered to have the life threatening blood disease and admitted into hospital to be taken care of last month.
Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition which is a serious complication of an infection – and can lead to multiple organ failure. It’s also known as blood poisoning, and occurs when large amounts of bacteria enter the bloodstream.
After keeping fans updated with her condition, the blonde beauty – who split with Jack Fowler shortly after exiting the villa – has now revealed she’s left the hospital, describing her stint as “the worst week of my life”.
Writing to her 619,000 Instagram followers, Laura captioned a gorgeous snap of herself in a hospital bed with: “DAY 10 in hospital and your girl has FINALLY been sent home, honestly it has been the worst week of my life.
“When I fell ill last Tuesday with a temperature never did I think it was about to be a week as scary as it has been.
“Being someone that never really gets ill, I never thought that something like this would happen to me, however, it has taught me how important it is to listen to your body because it can so quickly turn fatal if you don’t look for the vital signs.”
She continued: “It’s going to be a slow recovery, but I am so grateful to have had the people I had around me this week that spent countless hours in my hospital room wiping my tears and making sure I didn’t run away when I was told I had to stay day after day.
“I will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses that looked after me you are the true angels, the hours that you work and the jobs that you do are incredibly difficult and should get more recognition for what you do because you’re literally life savers THANKYOU.”
She added: “And to all of you that sent messages they did not go unnoticed I feel so blessed to have the support and love of you all.
“I have learnt so much this week In so many ways I’ll be back stronger than ever.”
Laura rose to fame in the summer after facing for fellow islander hunk Jack Fowler.
But shortly after the pair left the dating show, they sadly called it quits on their romance.
She said at the time: “Sadly Jack and I have both decided to go our separate ways due to such busy schedules right now and not having the time to spend together. Feel truly blessed to have got to share my Love Island experience with him and to have made a friend for life.
“We will carry on supporting each other on this journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.”
