But the couple have now picked up their wedding plans after welcoming two children, and have been discussing Billie’s dream to wed in the Maldives on episodes of The Mummy Diaries.
While Greg was seen fretting over the cost of the wedding, Billie revealed it’s her dream to marry where the duo got engaged and they later secured a venue on the paradise islands.
Although plans are well on the way, Billie previously spoke exclusively to OK! online about why it’s taken the couple so long.
While discussing her collaboration with personalised gifting brand Getting Personal, Billie said: “I think 2018 that will be my New Year’s resolution — to get my wedding planned!”
And the couple seemingly have everything booked, as Billie jetted off with her best friends to celebrate her hen do at the end of August.
Here are all the details on Billie and Greg’s big day…
The hen ‘do
Billie and a huge group of her girl friends flew to Ibiza for her hen ‘do, with Ferne McCann also in attendance proving her feud with Sam is well and truly over.
The girls had a wild weekend, with each of them sharing snippets from the boozy trip.
On one occasion, Billie dressed as Wonder Woman and was carried in the air by waiters with a bottle of champagne in hand.
They partied at Ocean Beach Club, as well as Blue Marlin and Ants at Ushuaia.
Billie is just having Sam as her maid of honour, after reports surfaced Ferne was lined up to be in the bridal party before she was “axed”.
However, Billie set the record straight to Closer magazine, explaining: “So many of my friends have had eight pals as bridesmaids, but I think it’s too much.
“There was a story that my friend Ferne was upset she won’t be one of my bridesmaids, but I’ve got a really good group of friends and I could never pick just one or two of them – never choose between your friends.
“I decided to just have Sam as my Maid of Honour. Ferne wasn’t upset about it, she’d known for ages”.
Wedding dress shopping
Accompanied by her mum and sister Sam, Billie began trying on wedding dresses months ago.
The sisters shared numerous behind the scenes pictures as Billie tried on a variety of dresses.
Billie has tried on a number of wedding dresses over the years as she’s been engaged to partner Greg Shepherd since 2014, when he popped the question in the Maldives.
Bille, 28, spoke to OK! magazine at the time of the proposal. Sam Faier‘s sister said: “He said ‘I love you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I know our baby will be just as beautiful as you are. Will you marry me?’ Then he started crying.
“It took a while for it all to sink it and then ten minutes later I got a bit tearful too.”
And during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, Billie revealed she was quitting TOWIE to focus on her family and the big day.
She said: “I just feel like for me – Nelly’s two now – it’s just come to a natural end and I do plan to have more children. I need to start planning my wedding.”
Billie told OK! magazine earlier this year their nuptials will take place in the first half of 2019.
It has since been revealed that Billie has booked a location, but it remains top secret.
Flower girls and page boys
Speaking exclusively to OK! magazine, Billie revealed that both of her children and her nephew Paul will have important roles in her wedding.
When asked if Nelly will be a flower girl, she said in 2017: “Yes, and baby Paul and the new baby [Arthur] will be pageboys.”
The guest list
Speaking exclusively to OK! online, Billie revealed: “I’ve written the guest list, we started out with a huge guest list and we’ve cut it in half because we want it more intimate. Immediate family and friends, so yeah that’s exciting!”
Wedding dress style
Billie has revealed that she would love a bit of glam on her big day, and she’s also revealed that she loved Abbey Clancy’s simple style.
The model wore a white Giles Deacon dress when she married footballer Peter Crouch in 2011.
Speaking to Star magazine, she said: “I want to look glamorous and bridal, but I can’t see myself walking down the beach barefoot. I’d need some kind of flooring so I could wear heels.
“I loved Abbey Clancy’s wedding dress. I don’t want a meringue!”
She went on to say that little Nelly will be playing a huge role in the wedding, hinting that her daughter could be wearing a matching dress.
“One million per cent! I’ll get her a lovely little flower girl dress.”
