Speaking to The Mirror, Joe said: “She’s such good friends with the boys, and it’s someone doing them a favour.”
The former EastEnders star continued: “It’s not someone going in to try and enhance their career.
“Holly’s so good at what she does, she’ll be amazing, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Holly has previously opened up on taking on the role of hosting the ITV show — which returns on 18 November — claiming that she “never wanted’ to do it.
The blonde bombshell told Daily Star: “It was a job I never wanted to be offered because no one ever wanted the day to come when it was Dec without Ant.
“I told Ant that I would look after his show for him, because it’s still his show, and I would look after Dec for him.”

Celebrities reported to have signed up for the show include former Radio 1Xtra host Charlie Sloth, football manager Harry Redknapp, and The X Factor singer Fleur East.
Seann Walsh is also thought to have held discussions with show bosses following his Strictly Come Dancing elimination, as has Emily Atack — who allegedly had an affair with the comedian.
